Passenger feedback has resulted in an improved timetable for the Town Connector service.

Timetable changes are designed to increase direct trips between Waihi Beach and Katikati, and between Waihi Beach and Waihi.

The first trip of the day is now an express service from Waihi via Waihi Beach and is particularly handy for passengers wishing to transfer to the Katikati to Tauranga service at 9.05am.

The afternoon trip also links with the Tauranga service, arriving at 2.50pm for a flawless transition.

The new timetable features a pickup at Katikati College too, allowing students to travel to Waihi Beach Surf Club for after school training.

Town Connector stops at the Katikati Medical Centre, Katikati Countdown, Summerset by the Sea, Waihi Beach Surf Club and Waihi New World, as well as other stops designed to increase access to social and community facilities in the three towns.

Fares remain the same - $5 per trip for adults, $3 per trip for SuperGold cardholders and students, and free for under-fives.

Town Connector operates on Thursdays and provides pubic transport between Waihi, Waihi Beach and Katikati.

It was launched in October 2017, replacing an existing trial service. Initial numbers have been pleasing with patronage trending upwards since it began, illustrating the demand for such a service in the area.
