A man is facing a manslaughter charge after allegedly using his vehicle to cause a woman's death near Taupo on Monday.
Adrian Ngamotu, 54, appeared in the Rotorua District Court on Tuesday before Judge Greg Hollister-Jones.
Ngamotu is charged manslaughter following the death of a woman by allegedly using his vehicle dangerously.
He is also charged with assaulting another man allegedly using a vehicle as a weapon.
He was not asked to plead to either charge.
Police say further charges may be laid once enquiries have been completed.
'Police are awaiting the results of the post mortem and are not in a position to release the victim's name at this stage.
'Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.”
Ngamotu has been remanded in custody and will reappear in the High Court at Rotorua on May 24.
