The latest figures from the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand show property sale quantities in the broader Tauranga region are down.
For the three month period ending June, the median sale price for a property in the Mount Maunganui and Papamoa area was $420,000.
This was well up on the median sale price for the May period of $375,150, but the number of sales was well down with just 59 as opposed to 85 in the May period.
For the Western Bay of Plenty country area, the median sale price in the June period was $400,000 with 51 sales.
This was down on the May period when there were 61 sales.
For Tauranga, the median sale price in the June period was $350,000 with 107 sales made.
This was down on the May period when there were 121 sales.

The real estate agent who sold our house insisted you can't go wrong buying at the Mount-not that we believed them but it has been much worse that thought possible. Auckland prices continue to rise, while Tauranga seems on a gradual decline. I partly blame the council and their horrendous rates and development levies.
