Tauranga MP Simon Bridges says Hone Harawira's decision to force a by-election in his electorate Te Tai Tokerau is a waste of money.
Hone has started a new party called Mana Party as he fully severs himself from the Maori Party.

What a waste of Taxpayers money - no need for a by-election, he should wait till November an make his move then. We will also see IF he will be voted in anyway. Not good Mana!

As stated in the national news today, if Hone wins a by election with a newly formed party, he will not only instantly increase his own salary (from the public purse), but his new 'party' will receive a further $160k (again from the taxpayer) to fight/campaign in the next general election. Of course, today Hone denied all knowledge of this, but of course that is likely just pure BS. 'Mana' party, from what I have seen so far is a rag-tag collection of self-serving unionists, professional 'renta-protestors', delusional extremist maori activists who want to reclaim the whole of NZ and turn the country on it's head, and other misfits that no-one else wants in their political ranks. It is pretty much a side show - pure theatre! Most middle class NZers probably consider Hone Harawira to be the most blatantly racist MP to ever be on the public payroll, and a blight on the NZ political landscape. What a joke with him yesterday trying to compare Brash to Hitler on Q&A - a real case of the pot calling the kettle black!! (where are those infamous white 'mo-fo' comments now....) Quite unfortunate that someone who has been raised to hate for so long, and who had a chance to make something of himself rather than forever being known as just a bully-boy brown redneck, has sadly resorted to his old ways, and I think this is really just the beginning of the demise of Hone Hitlerwera. But then again tribal infighting is nothing new, and I think that the Mana party's time on the political horizon will be even shorter than that of the so-called 'maori party'. The sooner we are rid of this clown the better.

The trick for Hone (sorry about the familiar "first" name guys!) is that the taxpayer will be paying for him to launch his Party and policies. Really clever move by his advisors but none-the-less a terrible waste of taxpayer $s in a year of other disasters.

I see the MF dipstick has put "D DAY" off probably scheming on what other perks he can scam out of the electoral system.Parliament needs to take whatever steps that are necessary to ensure there is no by election in these circumstances.Step one abolish the Te Tai Tokerau Maori electoral seat -Just joking that would be discrimatory simply abolish the whole bloody lot in one go.
