Motorbike injury

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched at 7.30pm on Friday to Matakana Island.

An 11 year old boy had been riding a motorbike and collided with another motorbike.

He received a serious leg injury and was stabilised at the scene before being flown to Tauranga hospital for further treatment. The helicopter was called due to the remote access.

island is becoming a habit for the Heli, and not my idea of what the Heli is for, life threatening is the criteria
