Tauranga City Council's next Community Connections get-together is taking place at the Mount Maunganui Golf Club this Thursday night.
'We've also got another great line-up of representatives from local groups, who will have stands that people can visit to ask questions, get information or simply have a chat,” says community connections committee chair Steve Morris.
Community connections committee chair Steve Morris.
'Community Connections has already been to a number of suburbs around Tauranga, and it's been really encouraging to see how many people have come along to share their ideas and ask questions.
Meet Toi Te Ora – Public Health Service, find out what Neighbourhood Support does in Mt Maunganui, talk to Sport Bay of Plenty about their sporting needs, visit the Sustainability Options stand and register for a free one-hour home visit, these and other attractions will be set up at the club from 7pm.
'The get-together is a great way to find out more about local projects including the Phoenix Park project and the Mauao Reserve Management Plan, as well as some of our other priorities like the Annual Plan and the Civic Heart project. '
Also expected at the meeting will be representatives of local MPs Simon Bridges and Todd Muller.
The public will also find out about the great support St John ambulance provides. Emergency Management Bay of Plenty staff will be there as will Catholic Family Support Services.
The meeting is a chance for residents to talk to councillors and local groups and find out what's happening in their area.
