Feedback sought on arts strategy

The Thames-Coromandel District Council is seeking feedback on its draft Coromandel Arts and Creative Industries Strategy.

The development of an arts strategy is the first step in formalising a relationship between the council and the Coromandel's arts community.

Council explains the strategy will only support the arts already established in the Coromandel, but help them to lure and nurture new and upcoming artists to the district.

'The strategy has two levels, the first being an overarching summary of the goals and aims for arts in the Coromandel,” explains council.

'The second level will go into more detail about how the goals and aims can be achieved.”

The strategy has been presented to the Economic Development Committee and feedback from the community is now being sought before the draft is taken to the next full meeting of council.

Feedback on the draft Coromandel Arts and Creative Industries Strategy will be received up until 5pm on March 17.
