Applications are also being sought for heritage-related projects or events that are taking place in Thames before June 30.

The board has been allocated $6,030 for local heritage assistance from the original $30,000 district fund. The other four community boards have each been allocated their own portions of the previously district-wide fund.

All heritage-related projects or events in the Thames ward are eligible for the fund.

Community grants encourage and support community services, activities and events, plus non-profit organisations that impact have a positive impact on the community and recognise, support and enhance volunteer efforts.

All grant applications must be submitted by Tuesday, March1.
