TCDC calls for further submissions

The Thames-Coromandel District Council is calling for further submissions to the Natural Character Variation in its proposed district plan.

The submission period is now open for 10 working days and will close closing Friday, January 29.

'Last year the Natural Character provisions and overlay were withdrawn from our proposed district plan in response to the collective scope of submissions received on natural character,” explains council.

'At the same time council resolved to initiate a variation to introduce natural character back into the plan.”

When consultation closed in December the council had received 160 submissions, totalling 667 individual submissions points.

Further submissions are a Resource Management Act requirement and let people support or oppose a submission point that affects.

To make a further submission, download a form from council's webpage, fill it out, and either post it in or drop it off at area offices in Thames, Whangamata, Coromandel, Whitianga or Whangamata.

If you choose to email your further submission, make the subject heading 'Variation 1 - Natural Character further submission' and send it to: [email protected]
