Tairua locals are now able to use hand held hoses at any time, but the sprinkler ban will stay in place for another week.

The Thames-Coromandel District Council is also advising that water restrictions in Hahei and Matarangi have now been lifted.

Along with Tairua, a sprinkler ban only is currently in force in Whangmata and Omahu, while a hose and sprinkler ban is still in place in Matatoki.

There are no water restrictions in Puriri, Thames, Coromandel, Whitianga, Pauanui and Onemana, along with Hahei and Matarangi.
