With summer kicking in, Tauranga City's water consumption is starting to peak earlier than normal for this time of year.
The Council is asking people to be mindful of their water-use over the next month.
Tauranga City Council is asking people to be mindful about their water consumption.
'If you water the garden, please make sure every drop counts – don't water the footpath. Don't leave the sprinkler on longer than you need to,” says a Tauranga City Council communications spokesperson.
'The Council's parks contractors have been asked to apply the same principles when irrigating sports fields and recreational reserve areas.
'Water Supply staff will keep a close watch over the city's water consumption over the holiday period.”
The next lot of rain forecast to hit the region is being predicted until December 30, according to the MetService's 10 day forecast.
However, this could change depending on which way weather systems move over the country.

SHOWHOMES...shockers

In Papamoa I've seen at least 2 Showhomes in Golden Sands area leave sprinklers on ALL NIGHT! Classic was one that had the smallest area of lawn so 50% of the water was going on the road and down the drains... such a waste!
