Speed restrictions and traffic management will be in place on roads around the Bay of Plenty this week, as annual road maintenance and rock fall prevention work continues.

Motorists travelling around the region are advised to expect short delays and allow extra time to get to their destination.
Delays of between five and 20 minutes are possible on SH35, where rock fall prevention work is being undertaken at the Motu Bluffs and Maraenui Hill.
Stop/go traffic management and 30km speed restrictions will be in place each weekday for the next five weeks, while contractors carry out rock fall prevention work.
The first two weeks will be at Motu Bluffs, about 40km east of Opotiki, with the following three weeks at Maraenui Hill, about 30km east of Opotiki.
The work will require the highway to be closed from time to time while rocks from the bluffs above are cleared. Motorists are advised to allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes travel time.
At the SH29A Maungatapu underpass, work will continue on the new site entrance for construction traffic from Turret Rd above the Hairini St connection. New temporary line markings and safe hit posts are also be in place.
Temporary traffic management will be used throughout the week and motorists are advised to drive with care through the site.
From Friday afternoon on November 6 to Saturday, November 7, road repairs at SH5 and SH30 Rotorua CBD will be carried out at Fenton St roundabout and Waipa State Mill Rd, Te Ngae Rd westbound between Tarawera Rd roundabout and Sala St lights.
Road works will also be carried out at Fairy Springs Rd northbound near the BP petrol station and southbound just south of the Lake Rd lights.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow an extra five minutes travel time.
Speed restrictions and lane closures will be in place on several sites along SH36 Rotorua to Tauranga this month as workers install fibre optic cables.
Drivers should allow an extra 10 minutes travel time. This work is expected to continue through to late December.
