A petting zoo, the shearing section, wagon rides, the chance to milk a cow were some of the highlights of the Tauranga Agricultural and Pastoral Show at Tauranga Racecourse today.

Show secretary Kris Newcombe says the show was a really good wholesome day out for the city children to experience life in the country.
"It's been a really good day, everybody seemed to enjoy it.
"The petting zoo was absolutely packed, it was really popular."
Due to an increased number of entries in the equestrian section, horse and harness events will continue tomorrow.
