Passers-by in Tauranga's Red Square want the new owners of the block at the Devonport Road end to return the upstairs portion to a restaurant or a nightclub 'to extend The Strand a bit”.
The retail block, that also incorporates a second building on Devonport Road, is on the market for the first time in 14 years, and is valued at just over $12 million.

Many of the people asked about how they would like to see the site developed want a restaurant or a nightclub on the site of the former Mid City tavern, which is now leased by Destiny Church.
Developing the first floor to take advantage of the views is a common theme, while others are happy with the block remaining as it is, with retail businesses and Bravo restaurant on the ground floor.
The mid-city complex and the neighbouring Davies building in Devonport Road currently has more than 20 tenants, including the ground floor businesses and first floor commercial tenants.

Yup...I'm happily playing in a band now (Agent Smith) but do miss my days at Mid City as a DJ... would love to see it turned back into a nightclub again. Shane.
Great times at Mid city...
