Police are enlisting the help of the community to help locate a car stolen from a Bay of Plenty address this morning.

A Black 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage, registration number DRD680, was taken from an Ohope address earlier today.

Senior Sergeant Yvonne Parker asks anyone who has seen this vehicle to contact their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

'We also want to remind people to secure their bicycles around their property after two were stolen in the past few days from addresses in the Warren Park area.

'One is an ACCELATOR - silver and red in colour and the other a Dawes" brand, "blowfish" model, push bike with 16" wheels, purple frame,” says Yvonne.

'Many thieves are opportunist, so remove the temptation and you reduce the risk.”
