What’s on Today? Armed police and dogs

The rain clouds have cleared in Tauranga ready for a fun filled Saturday in the Bay.

If you're looking for something to keep the children entertained this afternoon or want an inside look into a police operation works, then head down to the Monmouth Redoubt at 12.45pm.

Senior Sergeant Rob Glencross and Sergeant Paul Selby with police dog Ty, going over the plan of attack for today with Tauranga AOS members.

As part of the New Zealand Police National Open Day, Tauranga Police will hold an Armed Offenders Squad and police dog demonstration.

If you head down to Tauranga Police Station from 10am, you will be able to take a tour of the station cells.

The open day is about giving the community an opportunity to gain an understanding of what the modern police service looks like.
