A ‘dirty weekend' story competition about a weed busting weekend in the back yard was held in conjunction with the recent ‘weeds for natives' swap.
The winner, Jojette Dorst of Katikati, uses her story to describe her singular attack on an old enemy, Tradescantia or Wandering Jew.

Competition winner Jojette Dorst receives a $100 voucher from Mitre 10 Mega garden centre manager Jan de Wet.

Jojette takes home a $100 gardening voucher from Mitre 10 Mega.
Jojette and her partner Ross's battle with this weed under their avocado trees highlights the invasive and tenacious nature of weeds in general and the effort required to get rid of them.
