Tauranga weather is expected to be fine this week, apart from one day of showers in the forecast for tomorrow.
The MetService says dry and wet weather systems will cross the country this week.
Tauranga is expected to miss out on much of the rain predicted for the rest of the country this week.
With the exception of tomorrow, Tauranga can expect to see sunshine right through until the weekend. Daily highs will range from 17 to 19 degrees with overnight lows dropping to around eight degrees.
MetService meteorologist John Law says a band of cloud and rain is set to cross the North Island on today and tomorrow.
He says a frontal system will move slowly northwards.
'While the place to be for the start of the week is the east coast of the North Island, with fine, dry and warm conditions for the likes of Gisborne and Hawke's Bay.
'From midweek, an area of low pressure lingers off the east coast of the North Island, making Gisborne and Hawke's Bay cloudier and wetter.”
During the second half of the week, John says, the area of higher pressure looks set to push back across the remainder of the country from the Tasman Sea allowing most spots to enjoy some drier weather for a time.
