Workmanship and willingness to address any issues are key factors why Tauranga-based Classic Builders has topped a national survey for customer satisfaction.
Classic Builders achieved higher accolades than any other large New Zealand building company in a report on new house owners' customer satisfaction levels.
Developer Peter Cooney and Matt Lagerberg of Classic Builders.
The recently-released document, from independent industry research company BRANZ, gathered information from almost 650 new home owners during 2013.
Customers were asked to rate a range of factors including the builders' workmanship and willingness to address any issues.
Classic Builders was singled out for its excellent after-sales service and high levels of customer satisfaction.
The company's customers were also deemed most likely to recommend their builder to others.
Directors Peter Cooney and Matt Lagerberg say the report's findings are 'rewarding, but not surprising”.
Peter says every Classic Builder's customer receives a 'classic care” guarantee promising exemplary service from first contact until long after the house is finished.
'People place a lot of trust in us when they choose to build a house with us.
'The least we can do is look after them exceptionally well every step of the way.”
Matt says the classic care approach includes regular, on-going contact with every homeowner for years after the home is completed.
'It's a pretty unique idea in our industry and it's a large part of the reason we have so much repeat custom.
'A lot of people have built with us three or four times.”
Last year, Classic Builders constructed more than 160 houses in Tauranga. The company, which has offices and show homes in Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Otago, has built about 350 houses in the last year and more than 2500 houses since its inception in 1996.

Customer service ethics ..... wow, imagine if our City Council adopted such ethics, 'give the customers what apply meaningful and on-going consultation'. Congratulations to the 'Classic Team', you bring honour to yourselves and by association, to our region!

Maybe you should have done your job when you were there instead of moaning about them now!

For an ex councillor who was involved in developing policy for our City Council that's a bit rich, I have found City Council employees, not so much executive team, amazing to deal with and they went the extra mile to assist me. I had to do some work and read and learn some things for myself but I realised most of the people in Council have spent 4 years at University and years in Council to learn about NZ policy, law and regulations, you should try it!
Congratulations

By Murray Guy's comment it looks as though you've earned his seal of approval. Not that I take much notice of Mr Guy's comments on meaningful council consultation. I think it's important to practise what you preach and not have mindsets. Very important to encourage not only submissions to council's plans, but to actually listen to them.

Tried monty1212 but you didn't vote for enough like minded folk to give me majority support on these issues!
