Equestrian, western riding, cattle and shearing competitions were just many of the fun activities at the Tauranga A&P Show.

As the sun streamed across the city , wood chopping demonstrations and BOP Strongest Man contest also kept people entertained as others looks on while people took part in medieval combat and culture by the Northern Horde.

Secretary/treasurer Sue McDonald says it's a fabulous event steeped in history and great entertainment for the whole family.

People also enjoyed everything from pig racing, informal dog show - enter the family pooch, dog jumping contest and more.

Children events consisted of pony rides, Clydesdale wagon, petting zoo, fairground, water slides, face painting, climbing wall, bungee 4 way run, karate, games, scooter safety, fire engine rides, pat the angora goats and alpacas, have a go at hand-milking a cow and more.

Pig racing was popular at the show today.

The needle in the haystack competition.
