SunLive Wither Hills Pinot Noir Competition

Making a pinot noir is 'the holy grail”, says Wither Hills chief winemaker Ben Glover.
'It's the prince of all the classic varieties, notoriously fickle, yet worth the blood, sweat and tears when you get it right.”
The Wither Hills Pinot Noir 2008 is distinctively Marlborough.

A wine with a wonderful core of spice, filled with ripe, concentrated primary berry fruit characters. The tannins are long, chewy and silky. Gentle traditional winemaking techniques have resulted in a richly-flavoured and fine structured wine, further enhanced by maturing in French oak barriques for 14 months.
I really enjoyed this pinot, especially served with lamb rack with an anchovy crust, served on a simple pea puree, visually a very attractive dish, yet totally simple. Enjoy!
