Sporadic rain is in store for Tauranga this week as an active trough brings unsettled weather to most of the North Island.
The MetService is predicting showers in Tauranga for most of the week with daily highs to reach about 20 degrees.
Rain is predicted for Tauranga this week.
Overnight lows are expected to drop between 10-15 degrees.
MetService operations manager Steve Ready says today's ‘dry-ish' start to the week will quickly give way to rain in many parts of the North Island tomorrow and Wednesday.
'The rain over the north of the North Island is likely to be accompanied by thundery downpours.
'Over the southern half of the South Island, there is likely to be less rain, with the skies clearing on Wednesday and Thursday as a weak ridge arrives from the Tasman Sea.”
Steve says a cooler south to southwest flow should sweep over the country with a few showers in tow at the end of the week.
