A sewer overflow has led to Pilot Bay being closed for swimming, fishing and shellfish gathering.
The sewage spill is being described by Tauranga City Council as minor and entered Pilot Bay near Salisbury Wharf on Tuesday morning, June 30.
Cleanup and containment of the spill is in progress while health warning signs are being erected.
