Greenpeace ups ante on emissions

Greenpeace is launching a Climate Change Campaign which they say is their most urgent and ambitious to date.

The campaign is called ‘Sign On' and urges world leaders to sign on to urgent action when they meet in Copenhagen in December this year. A website, fronted by celebrities like Lucy Lawless and Robyn Malcolm, has been set up for the campaign. The public are encouraged to add their voice to request Prime Minister John Key to sign New Zealand on to a 40 per cent emissions reduction by 2020.
So far over 50,000 New Zealanders have signed up in support of the campaign. Sign online at www.signon.org.nz or in person at the Tauranga Environment Centre, 12 Elizabeth St, Tauranga.
