Sunny end to summer

Summer looks set to continue for a few weeks yet with the MetService predicting another settled patch of weather bringing sunny skies for the next 10 days.

The MetService is predicting sunshine for Tauranga tomorrow followed by light cloud on Sunday and Monday before sunshine from Wednesday through to the end of next weekend.

MetService media and communications meteorologist Dan Corbett says the last trough in the disturbed south-westerly flow will slide across the country at the weekend, bringing the odd shower to a few places as it moves away.

At this point it looks like the fine and settled spell following it will last well into the middle of next week.
'Most of the North Island, including Tauranga, will stay dry.

'Tauranga is not looking too bad, there might be some more cloud coming into the mix from the eastern parts of Waikato, but otherwise is pretty good shape.”

A high of 26 degrees is on the cards for the city, which remains the predicted high for the rest of the week.

'With an anticyclone building across New Zealand over the next few days, maintaining fine weather in many places, it looks like sunglasses and beach towels might come in handy late weekend and into next week.”
