A water main break on Welcome Bay Rd has disrupted water supplies to rural properties between Welcome Bay School and Water Lane.
Contractors were on site on Thursday working to repair the damaged main and restore water to affected properties, Tauranga City Council said in a Facebook post.
Water is expected to be restored within the next two days.
Council said residents travelling through the area, particularly during school drop-off and pick-up times at Welcome Bay School, are being urged to take care due to contractor vehicles operating on the roadside.
Anyone affected by the outage who requires water can contact Tauranga City Council’s contact centre on 07 577 7000 to arrange a delivery.
The council said it would continue to provide updates as repairs progress.
