A car has crashed into a house in Tauranga this afternoon.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern fire communications shift manager Garreth Lewis said crews were called to a report of a vehicle colliding with a house in Bethlehem about 2.37pm.

One fire truck, a rescue tender and a support vehicle responded to the scene.

Lewis said firefighters remained at the property and were assessing the structural integrity of the house.

Firefighters were working alongside police and ambulance staff.

Police said they were called to the crash on Pembroke Drive just after 2.30pm.

“There were no reports of any injuries inside the house; the driver of the vehicle sustained moderate injuries.”
