Accounting firm Findex is set to bring a major burst of community spirit to Tauranga, with its flagship charity golf day coming to the city for the first time.
The fifth annual Findex Community Fund Golf Day will tee off at Mount Maunganui’s Omanu Golf Club, promising to raise thousands for organisations making a meaningful difference across the Bay of Plenty.
“As a nationwide organisation, we’re thrilled to host the Findex Community Fund Golf Day in the Bay of Plenty this year,” Tauranga-based senior partner Michelle Malcolm said.
“Each successive event gives our clients and business partners a great opportunity for some fun, while doing something amazing for the local community and our selected charities.”
The March 20 golf day targets golfers of any capability, from those first getting to grips with the clubs, through to seasoned pros.
Geared towards fun, community engagement and doing good for active local organisations, this year’s charities include men’s mental health initiative UOKBRO, Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club, and food rescue and practical support organisation Good Neighbour.
Last year’s event in Nelson raised $54,956 towards a new ambulance station for Hato Hone St John.
Golfers are invited to get into the swing of it for 18 holes played in Ambrose style at the 18-hole Omanu Golf Club.
The stunning parkland course features tree-lined fairways, quality greens, and a relaxed coastal setting.
Findura is sponsoring a ”Hole in One" competition and offering participants the chance to win a new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado VX Hybrid valued at $95,490. Khov Jones comes on board as drinks sponsor, ensuring all on-course beverages are included throughout the day.
Fiordland Discovery returns as a sponsor for another year, with the charity auction featuring a high-value prize of six nights for two aboard the Fiordland Jewel for a Southern Fiordland cruise in the Captain Cook cabin, valued at $16,000.
Malcolm said interested parties are invited to register their interest and book a team of four - tickets are $115 + GST each or sign up as an individual and be allocated to a team to meet new people.
The day includes everything Omanu Golf Club has to offer, along with on-course activities, BBQ and drink stations, a post-game networking event with an auction fundraiser and prizegiving.
Registration opens at 11am on March 20, with prizegiving and the charity auction taking place from 6pm in the clubhouse.

“With a couple of other options available, you can choose how to highlight your brand – from providing products and prizes to auction items for the post-event networking function,” Malcolm noted.
“Do get in touch, either to sponsor, play or, even better, both. Every contribution helps support these worthy local charities, and there’s no better way to do your bit by enjoying an excellent day out networking with friends, colleagues and associates.”
Malcolm said the Findex Community Fund (FCF), the company’s primary charity vehicle, reflects Findex’s strong culture of giving, raising and distributing donations to people in need across the communities in which it operates.
“Through our programmes, we support health and wellbeing, learning and education, and community resilience,” she said.
Since 2018, FCF has donated more than $4.3 million to charities in New Zealand and Australia, including support for more than 160 charities in New Zealand alone.
She said the charitable partnerships are a key driver of employee engagement, with Findex people contributing almost 400 hours of volunteer time in 2025.
