Hoops on the Waterfront
Whai Basketball is back by popular demand, hosting another fun and free community event from 10.30am in the Tauranga city centre basketball half court next to the waterfront playground. Come meet some of the team, shoot hoops with the pros, learn tips and tricks, and enjoy great music with DJ Double D and local legend MC Francis Kora on the mic. Phoenix Performing Arts will bring the energy with performances from the ‘Flame’ Hip Hop Crew and a talented adult duo, showcasing their skills ahead of the Project Youth Hip Hop Nationals at Mercury Baypark over King’s Birthday weekend. They’ll even teach you some moves – so bring your best energy and get ready to groove.

Get creative and bring your own creatures to life with Alter Ego Creations. In this fun, hands-on workshop, kids can make silly monsters, braided dolls, or adorable crochet critters using colorful materials and tons of imagination.
Pocket-size-play activities are moving inside for the cooler months to Te Ao Mārama - Tauranga Library. There’s a free activity between 10.30am – 12.30pm every Saturday. Proudly brought to you by Tauranga City Council, with support from Downtown Tauranga.
