Emergency services are at the scene of a crash at Hamurana, near Rotorua.

Police said a truck and car have crashed and two people are injured. One person is reported to have critical injuries and one has serious injuries.

The crash was reported about 9.15am.

One lane is open and stop/go traffic management is in place, a spokeswoman said.

An eyewitness drove through the crash scene near the intersection of State Highway 36 and Hamurana Rd about 9.30am.

She said a blue car was in a ditch “smashed in” and a large truck was sitting at the intersection.
