One seriously injured in Tauranga crash

One person has been seriously injured following a crash in Tauranga.

In a statement to SunLive, a police spokesperson said that there has been a single vehicle crash on Bradley Ave, in Pyes Pa, at 2.05pm.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said they were also notified of the motor vehicle incident at 2.05pm.

"One ambulance attended and is transporting one patient, in a moderate condition, to Tauranga Hospital."

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said they received reports of a car hitting a tree at 2.04pm, and two fire trucks were sent. 

"The vehicle was on its side," said the spokesperson. "The person wasn't trapped, but they needed assistance to get out of the vehicle."

''One person has been seriously hurt, the road remains open," said the police spokesperson.

Driver condition

The driver was taken to hospital where all of the appropriate tests were undertaken with the driver later released to return to his home.
