Katikati man Bruce Duske is the Bay of Plenty's newest Justice of the Peace, after he was sworn in by Judge Paul Geoghegan in the Tauranga District Court this month.

Bruce swore an oath of allegiance to the Queen and that he 'will do right to all manner of people after the laws and usages of New Zealand, without fear or favour, affection or ill will”.

Bruce is heavily involved in his community, serving on the Katikati Community Board and chairing the Katikati High School Board.

He is also a past president of the Rotary Club of Katikati.

The Bay of Plenty Justice of the Peace Association covers Katikati, Tauranga and Te Puke and has about 280 members.
