Update, 1.26pm: One person has died following a crash on No 1 Road in Te Puke.

The crash, involving a car and a motorcycle, was reported to Police at 12.30pm.

The road remains closed while the Serious Crash Unit examines the scene.

Motorists are asked to follow the directions of emergency services staff at the scene.

Emergency services are at the scene of a traffic crash near Te Puke.

The crash is at the intersection of Number 1 Rd and Pacific Coast Highway.

"Police were advised of a crash involving a car and motorcycle on No 1 Road in Te Puke at 12.30pm," says a police spokesperson.

"One person is reported to have serious injuries."

The road is blocked and diversions are in place.
