Police are confirming one person has died following a two-vehicle crash on the intersection of Awaiti Road and Awaiti West Road, Netherton, Hauraki this morning.

"The crash was reported around 7.20am," says a police spokesperson.

"Sadly, one person died at the scene.

"One other person was transported to hospital in a moderate condition.

"The road was closed but has since reopened.

"The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
