Emergency services are responding to a single motor vehicle crash on State Highway 2 near Bethlehem.

The crash is near the intersection of SH2 and Taniwha Place between the Wairoa River Bridge and Bethlehem shops.

"Police have been advised of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of SH 2 and Taniwha Place around 2pm," says a police spokesperson.

"It appears to have been minor as ambulance have been stood down."

Police say there are no reports of the road being blocked.
