A house fire is being reported in Mount Maunganui this morning.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE hotline says fire trucks are responding to the incident located on the corner Grove Avenue and Maunganui Road.

Fire and Emergency northern communications shift manager Paul Radden says crews are in attendance at a residential dwelling, responding to a "kitchen fire".

Fire crews first received the report at about 11.25am.
