Emergency services are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on SH2 northbound near the intersection with Youngson Road, Whakamarama this evening.

A police spokesperson says the crash occurred at around 5.45pm.

"One lane was blocked."

"There do not appear to have been any serious injuries. A tow has been arranged.

A Waka Kotahi spokesperson says to please follow directions of response crews in the area.

"Consider delaying your journey or expect delays and possible diversions."
