Road works planned for SH2

Delays are expected while the works are being carried out.

Regular users of State Highway 2 in Tauranga are being warned to expect delays.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is planning on carrying out works at two different locations on the main highway.

The first is on SH2, between Te Pune Station Road and Taniwha Place.

Resurfacing work is expected to take place on the cycle path of this section of highway.

Waka Kotahi says this is expected to take place between 9am and 4pm on Wednesday, August 9.

"Lane shifts will be in place and speed will be reduced to 50km/h."

The second lot of works will see bridge maintenance carried out on SH2/Takitimu Drive on August 13 to August 17.

Waka Kotahi says lane closures will be in place between Dive Crescent and Chapel Street.

A temporary speed limit of 50km/h will also been in place between 7am and 6pm.
