UPDATE 3.19pm: A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says the road "is now clear" after the crash.
Previously, one lane was partially blocked and traffic in the area was building up.
EARLIER 2.27pm: A motor vehicle collision on Hewletts Road is causing congestion for city bound traffic.
One lane is partially blocked, according to a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.
"Traffic is building up and delays should be expected until the scene can be cleared."
A police spokesperson says there are no reports of injuries.

I'm surprised there are'nt more serious crashes on Hewletts Road. If Police ticketed and fined every vehicle, especially trucks, going through the lights when they are red at the Hewletts Totara intersection, the National debt would be paid off in weeks.
