Police have released the name of the man killed in a crash in the Coromandel Peninsula in May.

Fifty-nine-year-old Gregory Stevens from Thornton Bay dies following a crash on Thames Coast Road, near Te Mata, on May 27.

"Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones," says a police spokesperson.

"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
