No injuries have been reported after a car crashed into cows near Katikati earlier this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on State Highway 2, between Woodland Road and Kauri Point Road, at 3.20am.

A police spokesperson says multiple cows were reported to have been involved in the crash.

Police say most of the cows made it back to the paddocks with no reports that any had been killed or injured.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash, but police say the car sustained significant damage.
