Emergency services are responding to the scene of a crash near a slip on State Highway 2 near Edgecumbe.

Police say a slip was reported on Matata Road at 6.22am.

A single-vehicle collision has been reported near the slip.

Police say they are en route to the scene.

It is unknown at this stage if there are any injuries.

A slip at Pikowai on SH2 between Matata and Paengaroa is causing some traffic delays.

Due to the slip, SH2 is reduced to 1 lane between Pikowai Rd and Hauone Rd at Pikowai Beach.

Motorists are advised to pass with care and expect delays until cleared.
