State Highway 36, also known as Pyes Pa Road, is blocked near Williams Road.

A Waka Kotahi spokesperson says to avoid the area and expect delays on SH36 which links Tauranga and Rotorua.

A police spokesperson says they received the report at 6.10pm.

"A tow has been arranged for the vehicle."
