UPDATE 4.22pm: A SunLive reader says the road previously blocked after a crash near Bethlehem on State Highway 2 is now clear.
"The crash scene is all clear now," says the reader.
"The road is incredibly slippery. I came through on Wednesday at normal speed and as soon as I got to the part where they've taken off the top layer my wheels started slipping. Scary.
"Had to take it quietly and the second piece of roading I got to was the same. Today right where that crash was, the road is still stripped of its top layer and is very slippery."
EARLIER 4.23pm: Police are currently at the scene of a crash on State Highway 2, Bethlehem between Bethlehem Road and the Waihi Road off-ramp.
A police spokesperson says it appears one has minor injuries after a vehicle had "gone into the median barrier", at about 2.30pm.
"The road is partially blocked."
A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says to consider using alternate routes, and the east bound lane is partially blocked.
A Waka Kotahi spokesperson says to expect delays and proceed with caution.
"Follow directions of emergency services on scene."
According to Google Maps, traffic is building up in the area.
