Emergency services are responding to the scene of a serious crash on State Highway 35 at Te Kaha.

Police report they have been alerted to the SH35 crash at Te Kaha, near Copenhagen Loop Road.

"It appears a person has been injured and the Serious Crash Unit has been notified," says a police spokesperson.

Waka Kotahi NZTA advise that there may be traffic delays.

"Follow directions of emergency services on scene," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson.

"An update will be provided as soon as more information is available."

The crash is about 1 km northeast of Te Kaha.
