UPDATE 7.46AM: Police are reporting that State Highway 2 is now open following a three vehicle crash.

UPDATE 7.38AM: Emergency services are at the scene of a three vehicle crash on Sandhurst Drive.

A police spokesperson says they were called to the crash on the on ramp to State Highway 2, northbound, around 7am.

"It appears one person has moderate injuries and the road may be partially blocked while emergency services respond."

EARLIER:

Motorists are being warned to expect delays on State Highway 2 when travelling between Papamoa and Mount Maunganui.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is reporting a crash on SH2 in the westbound lane.

"Due to a crash the left westbound lane on SH2 TEL after Sandhurst Dr is blocked. Expect delays."
