One person has died following a single-vehicle crash at Ohinewai.

Emergency services are at the scene of the serious single-vehicle crash on Tahuna Road, Ohinewai.

Police were called about 12.50pm.

"Police can confirm the single-vehicle crash on Tahuna Road, Ohinewai, earlier today was fatal," says a police spokesperson.

"The road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours. Please continue to avoid the area."
