Update. 8pm: State Highway 29A is now reopened following an earlier vehicle crash.

Police responded to a one vehicle crash where a vehicle has collided with a power pole on State Highway 29A, near Pyes Pa Road, around 4.10pm.

"Police transported one person to hospital with minor to moderate injuries," says a police spokesperson.

A power outage in the Tauriko area has now ended with power restored to the affected properties.

SH29A was has been closed northbound from Pyes Pa Rd to Takitimu Drive is now open again.

Update, 4.40pm: One person has been taken to hospital with minor to moderate injuries following a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 29A.

Powerco is reporting is a power outage in Tauriko affecting over 160 properties. The power outage occurred at 4.07pm and the time of restoration is expected to be by 8.15pm.

Due to the crash, SH29A is closed northbound from Pyes Pa Rd to Takitimu Drive.

Motorist are advised to expect delays through this area or delay travel if possible.

Earlier, 4.20pm: Emergency services are responding to a vehicle crash on State Highway 29A near Barkes Corner.

Tauranga Transport Operations Centre is reporting a one-vehicle crash on SH29A between Barkes Cnr and the roundabout at the Takitiumu Drive/Lakes intersection.

It is unknown at this stage whether there are any injuries.

Motorists are advised to delay their travel or take an alternative route.

it is understood that powerlines are down in the area due to the crash.
