WeatherWatch is forecasting a south to south-west flow covering New Zealand for Anzac Day bringing with it a few showers, especially in the morning.

"While most regions have south to west-southwesterly winds the airflow over Canterbury and parts of Otago may turn more west to northwesterly for a time, boosting daytime temperatures," says a WeatherWatch spokesperson.

"Most showers will be brief and short lived, but the eastern North Island may have more widespread showers for a time on Monday as they track northwards slowly - Hawke's Bay, for example. Any accumulation will be low - such as 0.2 to 5mm - right across New Zealand."

WeatherWatch says most of New Zealand will be mild or about average for this time of year.

"The only region to have below seasonal temperatures on Monday will be Hawke's Bay, which leans 1 or 2 degrees below normal. However, further south the eastern South Island will actually be over 4 degrees above normal for Anzac Day."
