More than 800 people joined in to hunt for Alice and her friends in Pāpāmoa's free community event on Sunday.
"What an amazing turnout," says Pāpāmoa Unlimited marketing and event manager Julia Manktelow. "The biggest ever!"
The Pāpāmoa Alice's Wonderland Easter Hunt attracted 849 registrations to hunt for Alice and her friends along the Te Ara ō Wairākei Storm water trail between Santa Monica Drive and Palm Beach Boulevard.
Participants were required to find the large handcut images, take a selfie and upload the photos to Facebook.
"The track was pumping and the photos were georgeous," says Julia.
'After a tough year for families I am so excited to bring Pedal and Pump Pāpāmoa to life for Easter."
Julia says the free and fun day of adventure was planned for everyone to enjoy.
"I've made it extra special this year with a picturesque backdrop of the Te Ara ō Wairākei Storm water trail and giant Disney characters.”

The 13 characters that needed to be found were Alice, the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts, the King of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Dormouse, Alice's sister, the Mouse, Playing Cards, and Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee.
Four brand new bikes as well as a heap of other prizes were up for grabs, with the event sponsored by Commercial Signs, My Ride Mount Maunganui, One Wave NZ, and Flex Fitness.
All that was required to enter for the chance of winning prizes was to find Alice and her friends, take a selfie with them and upload the selfies to Facebook and click on the 'check in' button to tag Pāpāmoa Unlimited.
The event ran from 10am to 4pm on Sunday April 17 for people to enjoy the magical day at their own pace. A live prize giving was held online on the Pāpāmoa Unlimited Facebook page at 6pm.
